A night-time prayer

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ, give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous, and all for your love’s sake. Amen.

An Evening Prayer

O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and exhausted land
where there is no water.

I have seen you in your sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips I will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;
your right hand upholds me!

My soul finds rest in you, O God!

AMEN.

An Evening Prayer

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
or watch, or weep tonight,
and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Give rest to your weary ones,
bless your dying ones,
soothe your suffering ones,
pity your afflicted ones,
shield your joyous ones,
and all for your love’s sake.

Amen.
